THE PEARLS

November 16th, 2005 by graceanne13

Jenny was a bright-eyed, pPearl retty five-year-old girl. One day when she and her mother were checking out at the grocery store, Jenny saw a plastic pearl necklace priced at $2.50. How she wanted that necklace and she asked her mother if she would buy it for her. "Well, it is a pretty necklace," said her mom, "but it costs an awful lot of money. I’ll tell you what. I’ll buy you the necklace, and when we get home we can make up a list of chores that you can do to pay for the necklace. And don’t forget that for your birthday Grandma just might give you a whole dollar bill, too. Okay?" Jenny agreed, and her mother bought the pearl necklace for her. Jenny worked on her chores very hard every day, and sure enough, her Grandma gave her a brand new dollar bill for her birthday. Soon, Jenny had paid off the pearls. How Jenny loved those pearls. She wore them everywhere to kindergarten, bed, and when she went out with her mother to run errands. The only time she didn’t wear them was in the shower - her mother had told her that they would turn her neck green. Now Jenny had a very loving daddy. When Jenny went to bed, he would get up from his favorite chair every night and read Jenny her favorite story. One night when he finished the story, he said, "Jenny, do you love me?" "Oh yes, Daddy, you know I love you," the little girl said. "Well, then, give me your pearls." "Oh! Daddy, not my pearls!" Jenny said. "But you can have Rosie, my favorite doll. Remember her? You gave her to me last year for my birthday. And you can have her tea party outfit, too. Okay?" "Oh no, darling, that’s okay." Her father brushed her cheek with a kiss. "Good night, little one." A week later, her father once again asked Jenny after her story, "Do you love me?" "Oh yes, Daddy, you know I love you." "Well, then, give me your pearls." "Oh, Daddy, not my pearls! But you can have Ribbons, my toy horse. Do you remember her? She’s my favorite. Her hair is so soft, and you can play with it and braid it and everything. You can have Ribbons if you want her, Daddy," the little girl said to her father. "No, that’s okay," her father said and brushed her cheek again with a kiss. "God bless you, little one. Sweet dreams." Several days later, when Jenny’s father came in to read her a story, Jenny was sitting on her bed and her lip was trembling. "Here, Daddy," she said, and held out her hand. She opened it and her beloved pearl necklace was inside. She let it slip into her father’s hand. With one hand her father held the plastic pearls and with the other he pulled out of his pocket a blue velvet box. Inside of the box were real, genuine, beautiful pearls. He had them all along. He was waiting for Jenny to give up the cheap stuff so he could give her the real thing. So it is with our Heavenly Father. He is waiting for us to give up the cheap things in our lives so that He can give us beautiful treasure. Isn’t God good? Are you holding onto things which God wants you to let go of? Are you holding onto harmful or unnecessary partners, relationships, habits and activities which you have become so attached to that it seems impossible to let go? Sometimes it is so hard to see what is in the other hand but do believe this one thing - God will never take away something without giving you something better in its place. –Author Unknown

A REASON TO LOVE…..c”,)

September 3rd, 2005 by graceanne13

Author unknown

My husband is an Engineer by profession, I love
him for his steady nature, and I love the warm
feeling when I lean against his broad shoulders.

Three years of courtship and now, two years into
marriage, I would have to admit, that I am getting
tired of it. The reasons of me loving him before, has
now transformed into the cause of all my
restlessness.

I am a sentimental woman and extremely sensitive
when it comes to a relationship and my feelings, I
yearn for the romantic moments, like a little girl
yearning for candy. My husband, is my complete
opposite, his lack of sensitivity, and the inability of
bringing romantic moments into our marriage has
disheartened me about love.

One day, I finally decided to tell him my decision,
that I wanted a divorce.

"Why?" he asked, shocked.

"I am tired, there are no reasons for everything in
the world!" I answered.

He kept silent the whole night, seems to be in
deep thought with a lighted cigarette at all times.
My feeling of disappointment only increased, here
was a man who can’t even express his
predicament, what else can I hope from him? And
finally he asked me:" What can I do to change
your mind?"

Somebody said it right, it’s hard to change a
person’s personality, and I guess, I have started
losing faith in him. Looking deep into his eyes I
slowly answered :
"Here is the question, if you can answer and
convince my heart, I will change my mind, Let’s
say, I want a flower located on the face of a
mountain cliff, and we both are sure that picking
the flower will cause your death, will you do it for
me?"

He said : " I will give you your answer tomorrow…."
My hopes just sank by listening to his response.

I woke up the next morning to find him gone, and
saw a piece of paper with his scratchy handwriting,
underneath a milk glass, on the dining table near
the front door, that goes….
My dear, "I would not pick that flower for you, but
please allow me to explain the reasons further.."

This first line was already breaking my heart. I
continued reading.

"When you use the computer you always mess up
the Software programs, and you cry in front of the
screen, I have to save my fingers so that I can help
to restore the programs. You always leave the
house keys behind, thus I have to save my legs to
rush home to open the door for you. You love
traveling but always lose your way in a

new city

, I
have to save my eyes to show you the way. You
always have the cramps whenever your "good
friend" approaches every month, I have to save my
palms so that I can calm the cramps in your
tummy.
You like to stay indoors, and I worry that you will
be infected by infantile autism. I have to save my
mouth to tell you jokes and stories to cure your
boredom. You always stare at the computer, and
that will do nothing good for your eyes, I have to
save my eyes so that when we grow old, I can help
to clip your nails, and help to remove those
annoying white hairs. So I can also hold your hand
while strolling down the beach, as you enjoy the
sunshine and the beautiful sand… and tell you the
color of flowers, just like the color of the glow on
your young face…
Thus, my dear, unless I am sure that there is
someone who loves you more than I do… I could
not pick that flower yet, and die.. "

My tears fell on the letter, and blurred the ink of his
handwriting… and as I continue on reading… "Now,
that you have finished reading my answer, if you
are satisfied, please open the front door for I am
standing outside bringing your favorite bread and
fresh milk… I rush to pull open the door, and saw
his anxious face, clutching tightly with his hands,
the milk bottle and loaf of bread….

Now I am very sure that no one will ever love me as
much as he does, and I have decided to leave the
flower alone…

GOD: "So you would like to interview me?"

ORANGE: "If you have the time"

GOD smiled. and said..

"My time is eternity."

GOD: "What questions do you have in mind for
me?"

ORANGE

:"What surprises you most about
humankind?"

and GOD answered…
"That they get bored with childhood,
they rush to grow up, and then
long to be children again."

"That they lose their health to make money…
and then lose their money to restore their health."

"That by thinking anxiously about the future,
they forget the present,
such that they live in neither
the present nor the future."

"That they live as if they will never die,
and die as though they had never lived."

GODS HAND TOOK MINE
AND WE WERE SILENT FOR AWHILE..

And then I asked…

ORANGE

: "As a parent, what are some of lifes
lessons
you want your children to learn?"

my child my child.. here is the answer..

"To learn they cannot make anyone love them. All
they can do is let themselves be loved."

"To learn that it is not good to compare
themselves to others."

"To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness."

"To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open
profound wounds in those they love, and it can
take many years to heal them."

"To learn that a rich person is not one who has
the most,
but is one who needs the least."

"To learn that there are people who love them
dearly,
but simply have not yet learned how to express or
show their feelings."

"To learn that two people can look at the same
thing
and see it differently."

"To learn that it is not enough that they forgive
one another, but they must also forgive
themselves."

"THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME..," I said humbly.

ORANGE: "Is there anything else you would like
your children to know?"

God smiled and said,
"Just Know That I Am Here.. ALWAYS..

Don’t be too busy today…
whose life can you change by sharing this?

share it to others.. as I share this to you.

How Thankful I Am To Him

April 22nd, 2005 by graceanne13

God is Good all the time, and all the time God is Good!!!!!!!!!

He loves us so much that it can make you cry everytime you feel His love. God has been good to me. He has showered my life with many blessings. There’s my family and all the friends I have. There’s the LOVED FLOCK Community to whom I have learned many things. Through the prayer meetings every friday that I attended I got to realize a lot. I also got to express my love for the Lord through the praise and worship.

I graduated last april 2. I’m thankful for that blessing. I have also applied to many schools. I am not sure yet if I’m going to be accepted on one of that school, but I do believe that God will make a way for me to find a job. This coming August I will have my LET Exam. I believe that it’s going to become another blessing in my life. As long as I do my part & believe that God will not abandon me then everything will be okay.

This is the beginning of a new chapter in my life. Join me as I go through all the challenges with HIM by my side.  c",)
